Our Book Bees went mad at Bay 13 Brewery & Kitchen in Coral Gables to discuss Sally Hepworth’s Mad Mabel, and the setting couldn’t have been more fitting. The novel is set in Melbourne, and this Aussie brewpub is named for a section of the Melbourne Cricket Ground in its founder’s hometown. Over Australian wine and light bites, we dug into 81-year-old Elsie’s secrets, traded theories, and cast the movie version, debating who should play each character if it ever hits the big screen. Thank you to everyone who joined us. We can’t wait to see you at the next one!
